One day while driving along with the kiddos, we passed two women running together on the sidewalk. Evelyn was all excited and yelled, "Look mommy, cool runner girls like you!!" :)

pics & chicago trip

I should be posting Noah's 5 month photo -- but we just got back from vacation last night, and I forgot to take the picture today... I hopefully will take some pics tomorrow. Here are some random photos from the past week or so...

Not sure when this photo was taken... but looks like I was catching a nice nap with Noah :)

Here is Evelyn at the petting zoo (part of the Evergreen fair that we went to on Labor Day). Evelyn didn't want to pet the animals -- but she kinda got a kick out of watching them and watching the other kids pet them. Noah is turning into a thumb-sucker. I think it is the cutest thing! Evelyn never really did it -- but Noah loves it :)
For our vacation we spent 5 days in chicago. My aunt, uncle and cousins all live there. My mom ended up coming into town so that she could spend some time with us, too. We stayed with my cousin and her husband. She has a 13 month old little boy, so they had lots of baby/toddler stuff for us to use while we were in town.

On Saturday we drove to South Bend to go to Notre Dame's first football game of the season. The kids stayed with my mom & aunt back in Chicago. We did some tailgating, walked around campus, saw some of Trav's old classmates, and witnessed a Notre Dame win. It was a successful day! Here is the band during halftime making an "ND" on the field:It is funny to think about the difference between the Notre Dame football experience and the Michigan Tech football experience... I remember waking up on Saturday mornings, walking around the sorority house, and having to bribe fellow DZ's to go to the games with me. We had more fans at my high school football games than at MTU!! On the flip side, I don't know if Notre Dame has homecoming -- but I doubt they have a hobo parade!! There is definitely no place on earth like Houghton! Man, I need to get back there for a visit sometime soon...

Here is Noah getting cuddled by my Aunt Noreen. He was definitely spoiled a little bit during our vacation!

Noah's girlfriend is also turning into a thumb sucker...hehehe

I just started Cambrie with the boppy sitting. She can sit by herself in it, but I stay close by because she will tip. It is pretty funny. I am trying to get her to sit soon because the carseat is getting heavy to carry, but it would be tough to go to dinner or something like that if she can't sit in a high chair.

Also, the pic of Trav and you is adorable. You look amazing. And little Miss Evelyn is walking great. She is already a pro.

Love the picture of the nappers on the coach. Joel and I have a very similar picture of a Penn State football game. I was blown away, so I know how you feel;) Not only can I not believe it is football season, we have missed the first two games with being too busy, so we plan on sitting down this weekend;)

It sounds like you all had a great trip to the Windy City! My second (Cooper) was a thumb sucker... did I saw was because I meant is a thumb sucker. When he was a baby it was so cute. I just remember staring at him and think "awe"!! Well, now... at 4 it isn't as cute and I don't know how to stop him. At his next dentist appointment I'm going to ask the dentist to say something to him. I heard that works. In meantime... enjoy the "awe" moment (because it's so gosh darn cute) and I hope you have any easier time getting Noah to stop. ;) If you've heard of any tricks I'd love to hear them... I'm up for anything. By the way, that is a great picture of you and Travis!
