One day while driving along with the kiddos, we passed two women running together on the sidewalk. Evelyn was all excited and yelled, "Look mommy, cool runner girls like you!!" :)

6 months

Evelyn is 6 months old today. Hard to believe she is 1/2 year! Here are a couple of our monthly pictures:
She started rolling over just the other day --- she is getting better and better at it every day. She can only do it from tummy to back right now.

Not much else going on this week --- just trying to get stuff ready to head out of town. We are heading to Michigan for some time with my family. Evelyn is going to meet her Uncle Gary for the first time! She is also going to get to meet Kara and her girls -- I can't wait!!

I'll have updates and pictures when we return. :)

First Cereal

Evelyn had her first cereal on Friday afternoon. She has been sleeping through the night (8PM until 6AM) since she was about 3 months old (lucky, I know). Just this past week she has been waking up hungry in the middle of the night. We are hoping the cereal will put a stop to that. I am starting to miss my sleep a little bit. She is slowly learning to eat from a spoon -- but Travis is much better at getting her to eat than I am.

Evelyn also started making "motorboat" noises. She blows air between her lips to make the vibrating sound. It is super funny! She does it all day long! It has made the feeding a bit harder though... Trav was feeding her cereal tonight and once in a while she would do that into the spoon and splatter food all over the place. She thought it was hysterical, of course. And just now -- when I was giving her the last feeding of the day, she was up to it again. When she was getting full, she would make her motorboat noises against my boob. I was trying not to have too much of a reaction -- I didn't want to get her too excited before bed, but it was pretty darn funny. She also was making the noises in her crib when we put her down for bed -- the girl is addicted -- she doesn't want to stop!

Sacramento Trip

Travis, Evelyn and I took a trip to Sacremento this past weekend to visit his parents. It was a fun weekend -- but went by a little too quickly!
Evelyn did great on both the flight there and back. I remember flying BB (before baby) and seeing a baby get on the airplane and thinking to myself "please don't sit next to me, please don't sit next to me"... Just because I didn't want to listen to a crying baby during the flight. So when we were boarding the plane, I was thinking that the other passengers were just hoping that we weren't going to sit by them. But --- our little girl was so well-behaved!! I was so relieved -- I hope we have the same experience the end of the month when we fly to Michigan :) Here is a picture of us on the flight. (I got a few inches cut off my hair cut last week -- it is now about shoulder length again. I am still losing hair post-pregnancy, and my hair dresser and I thought my now-thinner hair would look better at a shorter lenght. I am just praying that my hair loss slows down before it becomes more noticeable!! Did anyone else experience this?? How long did it last?)

Trav's parents had a "Come Meet Evelyn Marie" party at their house on Saturday. They invited a bunch of their friends and Trav's high school friends over to their place for food and drinks. It was a great idea --- it made it possible for people to come and see us at the same time without us spending our entire weekend trying to visit with everyone we could.

We came back Sunday night on a late flight --which ended up arriving almost 2 hours late -- UGH!! So, I am off to bed now to try to catch up on some sleep :)

Coughing baby :(

Evelyn has been coughing since Friday. She is a little congested, too. It is such a weird time to have a cold though. I mean -- she made it from the end of December until now without getting sick. She made it through cold season... and now that the weather is sunny and 70 degrees, she catches a bug. Ugh!

It doesn't seem to be bothering her too much though. She slept great last night -- from about 8PM until 6AM. I heard her (on the baby monitor) cough a few times in the middle of the night - but she went right back to sleep. I think the cough bothers me more than it bothers her!!

Here is another picture -- I love being able to put her in cute summer clothes! She is my litte "Strawberry Shortcake" girl in this outfit. (that is what it reminds me of) I had a strawberry shortcake sleeping bag when I was little --- I loved it! I might have even had a strawberry shortcake lunch-box, too!! One of those rectangular metal ones... :) Do you remember those??

That is all for now --- I am watching the Pistons game on the edge of my seat... the P-dogs are down by 3 points. They need to stop LeBron James tonight!! I hate one-man teams... That is why I hate the Lakers, too. Grr...
