One day while driving along with the kiddos, we passed two women running together on the sidewalk. Evelyn was all excited and yelled, "Look mommy, cool runner girls like you!!" :)

Good News All Around!!

There is a bunch of good news in this post :)

1) I went for my longest run tonight since I hurt my foot. 4 miles pain free -- and could have went further, but didn't want to add mileage too quickly and risk getting hurt again. Yay -- feeling like I might be able to get back into a running routine again!!
2) (please don't be judge-y about this one... I have been feeling like a big fat failure... this is SUCH a relief!!) Had a "potty party" for Evelyn tonight at ChuckECheese. She has been diaper free for about 2 weeks now --- AND -- without accidents! Seriously -- all it took was for Evelyn to want to do it -- and she did it. (not a single accident since she decided she wanted to use the toilet) Stubborn little girl! She had me so stressed for so long... I was about to seek therapy :) For her, it was a combination of being afraid of the toilet --- and good old-fashioned "I don't want to do it because I know that you want me to do it". Grrr!!! I should have known she was going to be stubborn when she was breech and refused to flip around in the womb!! Oh well -- I will look back and laugh... someday.
Had to laugh at Noah in this huge monster truck -- he loved it!3) Our annual Vandervort family vacation is coming up!! We will be with my in-laws and Chuck, Kim & Lola. This year we are driving to beautiful Leavenworth, Washington. I have Friday, Monday & Tuesday off -- should be fun!

Yay for running again!

Double Yay! for Evelyn! As for the stubborness, every time I have that defeated, exasperated look on my face about my children's stubborness, my wonderful day care lady tells me this:

"I know it's tough while they're little, but you will be so glad in middle school and high school when your child is not a follower and doesn't cave to peer pressure."

So I tell myself that. Sounds like Evelyn is the same way:)

Just have to share today's verse from my verse of the day on our blog: Psalm 94: 18-19. It made me smile to read this post right after I read it! BRAVO Mom & Evelyn! What a cool idea.. a potty party! Did you mention it during training?

Woohoo!

Potty training is not worth beating yourself up over! Because you aren't in control - they are (and Evelyn showed you, didn't she ;) ). She's such a keeper :)

Hi Michelle. Thanks for joining my journey. Hopefully you will enjoy following along.

I have enjoyed catching up with your family's happenings.

That animal "park" was amazing. I might have been freaked out by the bison too.

You kids photos were awesome. They are so adorable.

Belated Happy Anniversary. You guys are a cute couple.

Congrats on the potty party! I have already started working with LBM (about to turn 2). He seems excited right now but I know how that can fade! I figure it can't hurt to get him used to trying.

Have a great Tuesday!

Wahoo!!! YAY Evelyn! Tell her I say "GOOD JOB!" That is so so wonderful! You won't believe how much easier things get after 6 mos or so of being potty trained!

Again... way jealous of your workout schedule. I need a swift kick in the rear!

Miss you... wish we could get together again soon!
