One day while driving along with the kiddos, we passed two women running together on the sidewalk. Evelyn was all excited and yelled, "Look mommy, cool runner girls like you!!" :)

New Blinds & More Evelyn Pics

Well -- after living in our house for over two years, we finally got window treatments for our dining room. It took us until last spring to purchase the dining room table, until then the room was empty. I ended up purchasing room darkening roman shades. We get a ton of light through the window all day long --- and as much as I love the sun, I don't love what it will do to damage furniture. I figure we can open the blinds when we want to see outside -- but when we aren't in there, they can do their job and keep the sunlight (and heat) out of our house.

I like the way they turned out. I wanted to go with something very neutral -- so they won't interfere if we decide to paint. They also won't clash with different table linens. You can't really tell from the picture --- but there is a slight design on them (basically almost the same color) but just a fabric variation.

Here are a couple of new pics of Evelyn. I decided that I really like her in blue. I constantly have her wearing pink -- and people still mistake her for a boy (I think it is the lack of hair!!) ha ha ha But when she wears blue it really makes her blue eyes pop. I hope she keeps her baby blues --- they are so pretty. Travis has blue eyes -- so hers might just stick around. :)

I can't remember who we got this shirt from -- but she seems to like it!!

I like your blinds. Our house came with ugly vertical blinds that I still am in the process of replacing!

I have two brown eyed babies, so I don't know much about when blue eyes officially will 'stay blue.' Ava's changed completely by 4 or 5 months and Noah's changed completely by 2 or 3 months. Both of there's weren't really very blue when they were born either, they were more like a dark slate grey color. I think the general rule of thumb is that if they are going to change it's usually by 6 months....or is it 12 months? I can't remember:)

I love the big smiles Evie has in her picks too!

I lvoe your blinds. They look great with your dark wood table. I need some better window treatments besides white wood blinds. I am thinking of putting fabric....but not sure how it would look.

I love Evie in blue. I still think she has your eyes. I see a lot more of you in her in the last picture. I think she thinks of you when wearing the shirt. Please give her lots of kisses from me :)
