One day while driving along with the kiddos, we passed two women running together on the sidewalk. Evelyn was all excited and yelled, "Look mommy, cool runner girls like you!!" :)

Trav's 30th Birthday

We had a fun and busy weekend... We had a group of friends over on Saturday night to celebrate Travis's upcoming 30th Birthday. He turns 30 on April 11th. :) The party was a lot of fun. Kim (Trav's brother's wife, our sister-in-law) had her parents in town visiting --- so they came along, too. They love babies -- so they spent a lot of the night with Evelyn. Kim's mom even gave Evie her bottle before we put her to bed. It worked out perfectly... I loved being able to socialize and enjoy the party without having to worry about Evelyn, and Kim's parents really enjoyed getting some baby-time!!

One of my past co-workers (Brett) came with his wife (Rachel) and their 15 month old daughter Chloe. Chloe liked Evelyn and even gave her a couple of kisses!

The party was a success. We had a ton of leftover food, though. I think the Midwesterner in me comes out when we have people over... I definitely learned how to plan the food for a party from my mom. For example, when Trav's parents were in Michigan before our wedding, my mom was making corn on the cob. There were 6 people having dinner that night -- and my mom decided to prepare 20 ears of corn, just to make sure she had enough. Haha!! I don't know many people that would eat 3 ears of corn in one sitting, along with all the other food that was available... I tend to do the same thing... we had buffalo wings, cheeseball, chips and guacamole, a refried bean dip, blue cheese glop, stuffed mushrooms, macaroni and cheese, nuts... and at the end of the night there was a ton of stuff left-over. Oh well --- Travis is happy. He will be having left-overs for the next few days!

I feel bad about Travis's birthday on Wednesday though. I have a work dinner that night, so I won't even be around at all that evening... I am thinking about making him breakfast in bed for his birthday though. I guess his mom used to provide breakfast in bed for him and his brother Chuck on every birthday they had growing up. We'll see --- it will depend on how motivated I am on Wednesday morning. Trav typically gets up for work around 6AM, so it would involve some pretty earling cooking. :)

I am so glad you joined the blogging world.

Sorry I didn't call you last night. Josh was feeling under the weather, so I was busy with the girls. I'll give you a call tonight.

Miss you!!
