One day while driving along with the kiddos, we passed two women running together on the sidewalk. Evelyn was all excited and yelled, "Look mommy, cool runner girls like you!!" :)

Evelyn Marie's Baptism

Evelyn was baptized this past Sunday at St. James Cathedral. It was a beautiful event. Her baptism took place during the 10AM Mass at the Cathedral.
Evelyn wore a baptismal gown that is over 40 years old. It was purchased by Trav's grandma for her first grandchild. All of her grandchildren (on Trav's mom's side of the family) have worn the gown for their baptism (including Travis!). It was really neat to have Evelyn take part in that tradition. My mom also crocheted a beautiful christening blanket for the occasion. You can see the blanket in the picture below. Maybe we will be able to use the blanket again for future baptisms too!

Evelyn with her Godparents, Jim & Melissa:
Travis and I always feel very blessed to have such great friends and family. This was just another occasion where we were surrounded by the ones we love. We had around 20 people attend Mass with us to witness Evelyn's baptism. I am very thankful to have great friends and family in the area. Sometimes it is hard for me to be so far from home. I miss my family back in Michigan every day, but having Trav's family in the area makes it all a little more bearable.
After Mass, we all went back to our house to celebrate. Here are some more pictures from the day:

Evelyn had such a big day -- needless to say, she was conked out early :)

I can't see the pics :(

Glad to hear that all went well and so many people attended. I wish we could have made it out for the celebration.
